Jobs Application Statuses Explained

Every job application on Lemyi moves through a clearly defined set of statuses. These statuses exist to remove guesswork and give creators transparency into where they stand, without false promises or hidden meanings.

Understanding these states helps you interpret brand behavior correctly and decide what to do next.

Submitted

Submitted means your application has been successfully sent and is waiting for review.

At this stage:

  • The brand has not taken any action yet

  • Your application is visible to the brand

  • No decision has been made

Important things to know:

  • Submitted does not imply interest or rejection

  • Review timelines vary by brand

  • Some brands review quickly, others take several days

This is a waiting state. No action is required from you unless you choose to withdraw.

Shortlisted

Shortlisted means the brand is interested in you.

This is a positive signal, but it is not a hire.

When you are shortlisted:

  • The brand sees you as a strong potential fit

  • You may be one of several shortlisted creators

  • No deal exists yet

  • No payment exists yet

Shortlisting allows the brand to request an offer through Admin. Until that happens, nothing is locked in.

Shortlisted does not guarantee:

  • A deal

  • An offer

  • Payment

  • Selection over other shortlisted creators

It simply means the brand wants to explore the next step.

Rejected

Rejected means the brand chose not to proceed with your application.

This decision can happen for many reasons, including:

  • Style mismatch

  • Budget alignment

  • Timing or availability

  • Internal brand decisions

Rejection is normal and does not negatively affect your account.

Important clarifications:

  • Rejections are not penalties

  • Rejections do not lower your visibility

  • Rejections do not impact future applications

Brands make decisions based on specific needs for a single job, not your overall quality as a creator.

Withdrawn

Withdrawn means you chose to remove your application.

You may withdraw an application if:

  • Your availability changes

  • You accept another opportunity

  • You decide the job is no longer a fit

Withdrawing:

  • Is always allowed

  • Does not penalize your account

  • Helps brands avoid confusion

It is better to withdraw than remain inactive or unavailable.

What Application Statuses Do Not Represent

Application statuses do not:

  • Reflect your creator tier

  • Affect your approval status

  • Impact your internal scoring

  • Guarantee or block future deals

They are strictly contextual to one job.

How to Use Statuses Strategically

Creators who use statuses effectively tend to:

  • Apply selectively

  • Move on quickly after rejection

  • Stay patient during review

  • Respond promptly if shortlisted

Treat statuses as information, not judgment.
